The 11th Hour of 11th Grade
The school year is coming to a close...
June is coming! It will be here before we know it! It is important to remind 11th graders in the most non-threatening way possible (these are overworked teenagers after all and Junior year is probably the most workload-heavy year they've faced yet) that it is critical they finish the year strongly.
Just tune out the distractions and take care of those grades - and those pesky SAT subject tests. It's a good idea for them to create a plan for the remainder of the year: gather materials, create study schedules, plan plenty of time for sleep, etc. Right now, they're are feeling exhausted and overwhelmed; the best way to combat that feeling is to map out exactly what needs to get done between now and the first week of June. Once the school is over, it'll be time for a well-deserved rest.
It will also be time to take stock of where your child is in the process. How many more SAT subject tests need to be taken? How about the SAT? Or should they take the ACT? What will the process be like for college applications?
