SAT or ACT? How to Choose
If your child is a rising Junior, early Fall (or summer) is a good time to be diagnosed for one of the two major afflictions: SAT or ACT.
Students usually fall into one of these two categories. Over the years we've noticed that our New York City kids do very well on the ACT. To be honest, we're not sure whether the ACT just better reflects the curriculum and instruction of NYC Independent schools, whether our tutors are somehow ACT savants, or whether the ACT has become easier over time in order to gain market share from SAT. Whatever the reason may be, the ACT is increasingly becoming the way to go. Since colleges treat the two tests equally, the best thing to do is to come in and get tested. We’ll let you know which test gives your child the best chance to succeed.
